The sun sends about 174 terawatts of power (joules) toward Earth continuously. Only ~50% is absorbed by the Earth’s surface. ~30% is reflected by clouds and aerosols, ~20% by the atmosphere (=albedo effect). The Earth as whole absorbs ~70% of incoming solar energy. Man consume ~20 terawatts daily. I.e. the sun delivers ~9,000x more than humans consume.
